Data -
the plural of datum meaning "something Given." Data is individual facts, statistics or items of information
Information -
Knowlegde communicated or recived through study, reaserch and instruction.
Knowledge -
acquaintance with facts, truths, or principles, as from study or investigation. The sum of what is known.

Data Information and Knowlwedge are all related. Data is facts which is then turned into information and once the information has been given and learnt it is turned into knowledge.

This was a good wsebsite about explaning how data information and knowledge are all related, and how they all conincide with eachother. it is useful and easy to understand as it gives simple examples, and a diagram which makes the information even more clear.

This pdf file is very effective in noting the relationships between data, information and knowledge. it also has several useful questions on how to evaluate if the information that may be collected is useful or viable, by asking questions such as - why are they collecting it? (the information).
